Job description
Pinpoint Talent is seeking an experienced Full Stack Web Developer to join on an initial 12-month contract with our Federal Government client.
In this role, you'll provide technical leadership across a range of software engineering projects that support both public-facing platforms and internal enterprise systems.
Canberra location - Hybrid WFH arrangement
Initial 12-month contract, potential further 12-month extension
From $800 per day + super

As a senior member of the Web, Mobile, API and Integration Services team, you'll be responsible for guiding the design, development, and delivery of robust, scalable, and secure digital solutions. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring developers, improving engineering practices, and representing the team in strategic conversations with internal and external stakeholders.

You’ll also play a key role in mentoring developers, improving engineering practices, and representing the team in strategic conversations with internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and ongoing maintenance of shared code libraries and internal development tools that support the client's platforms.
- Provide expert-level technical advice and support across the client’s suite of digital services, particularly in the areas of web, mobile, and API integration.
- Oversee the development and support of capabilities used for testing, training, and demonstrating key services.
- Deliver high-quality, fit-for-purpose digital solutions that may not be practical to outsource due to budget, business, or technical constraints.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with key partners including state and federal agencies, portfolio departments, and the wider software development community.
- Contribute to strategic planning, program development, and policy initiatives within the broader Digital Services Branch.
- Foster a culture of technical excellence and collaborative problem-solving within the development team.
- Demonstrated experience in full stack software development within a government environment.
- A strong understanding of modern development technologies and methodologies.
- Proven ability to lead teams and projects in complex, high-stakes environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and initiative.
- Experience working across diverse stakeholder groups with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- A relevant qualification in software engineering, computer science, or related discipline.
