Job description
We are seeking a General Manager, National Directory & Interoperability for a leading health organisation.
You will be responsible for leading the efficient and effective delivery of a National Directory, and for leading the enablement of participation in an interconnected Australian health system. Your objective will be to ensure the directory is a recognised source of truth for the records and data it publishes and be an established component of national health system infrastructure.
As a leader responsible for interconnectivity, you will have a focus on the adoption of standards-based interoperability and being a contributor in the formulation of standards.
Key to your success will be your knowledge of the Australian health system and understanding of interoperability standards, along with the ability to connect and engage with stakeholders across the industry.

To be successful in this role you should be able to demonstrate the following;
- 5+ years’ experience in a relevant role, including significant experience leading, motivating and mentoring teams of technology and service professionals.
- Subject matter expertise in interconnectivity in the Australian health system context, across structural, policy, architectural and technical aspects.
- Understanding of interoperability standards in healthcare and their role in enabling an interconnected health system.
- Sound understanding of the Australian health sector, trends, government policies and Australia’s health reform agenda.
- Strong business and commercial acumen with financial management and business case experience.
- Proven, effective stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels
- Proven ability to successfully lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex projects across matrixed organisational structures.
- Relevant tertiary qualification - e.g. business, health services management, health sciences or a related field.
