About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Infrastructure Engineer to join our clients dynamic project team. This role will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware across multiple datacenters. You will also be responsible for producing detailed documentation to support these activities and contribute to the overall success of the project. The position involves working in a multi-disciplinary technical team to design and build a complex IT infrastructure project for a Defence client.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and support hardware across multiple dispersed datacenters.
- Develop detailed design and operational artifacts to support ongoing delivery and system sustainment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, including capacity planning.
- Build capabilities to effectively manage and maintain the environment, including firmware updates.
- Deployment and management of hardware within datacentre environments.
- Management of a CMDB to track infrastructure assets.
- HPE Compute and Storage configuration and management.
- Network storage technologies (iSCSI/Fiber-Channel).
- Network security technologies (Palo Alto NGFW).
- Networking configuration and troubleshooting fundamentals (Cisco IOS-XE and NXOS).
- Working within a VMware Deployed Software Defined Data Center (SDDC).
- Understanding of Essential 8 and compliance with ISM requirements.
- Working within an Agile team.
- Experience in project teams (below the line).
- Familiarity with Software-Defined Networking (Cisco ACI).
- Working in a DevSecOps model with a strong emphasis on CI/CD methodologies.
- Experience with automation tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
- HPE Storage Management and Configuration (RCG/CLI).
- NSX-T East/West Firewalling.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multi-discipline team.
- Strong mentoring and leadership skills to influence team members effectively.
- Proven ability to work within a project schedule and achieve client-focused outcomes.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
- Strong research and rapid learning abilities to improve technical knowledge.
- Ability to multitask and quickly adapt to changing priorities.
- Primary location: Canberra Office.
- Off-site data centre work as required.
