Job description
Pinpoint Talent is seeking a Master Project Scheduler for a large QLD state government department on a 12-month contract. The Human Capital Management Solution (HCMS) Program aims to replace the department’s ageing HR systems with a modern Human Capital Management Solution (HCMS). This three-to-five-year initiative will implement best-fit HCM solutions to enhance workforce management and support organisational objectives.
Position Overview: This HCMS Program requires an experienced Master Project Scheduler to assist Program and Project Managers in planning, monitoring, and reporting on program status, critical paths, and interdependencies. Working closely with technical experts and project teams, the role involves developing and maintaining project schedules while ensuring alignment with scope, budget, and timelines. The Scheduler may also recommend corrective actions to keep the program on track.

The Scheduler may also recommend corrective actions to keep the program on track.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialist advice on project scheduling practices, techniques, strategies, and methodologies.
- Develop project scheduling procedures and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain project schedules for the HCMS Program and sub-projects/workstreams, ensuring alignment with the strategic objectives of the department and industry best practices.
- Manage program and project schedules, identifying all interdependencies between workstreams.
- Track, monitor, and seek feedback on the progress of project tasks.
- Track baselines, conduct "what-if" analysis, and develop contingency plans.
- Develop Program Management and Executive Reports identifying critical paths, slack, upcoming and achieved milestones, and any criteria defined by the Program Manager, Executive Director, or Program Board.
- Adhere to program objectives and governance practices, including change management.
- Extensive experience with Microsoft Project Professional (2021), preferably Microsoft Project Online and SharePoint.
- Over five years of experience in project scheduling, applying techniques and strategies to align strategic organisational objectives with project goals.
- Proven expertise in delivering high-quality, professional scheduling services to ensure strong project performance and business outcomes.
- A successful track record of scheduling large-scale projects and managing risks that may impact delivery.
- Working knowledge of PRINCE2 project management methodology and MSP program management methodology.
- Strong consultation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships, communicate clearly, and negotiate with diverse stakeholders to achieve mutually beneficial solutions.
- High-level ability to prepare, coordinate, and present clear and insightful reports, briefings, and advice to a broad range of stakeholders.
