Job description
Our Federal Government client is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join on an initial 12 month contract with potential further 12-month extension.
Sydney / Brisbane / Canberra - Hybrid
From $800 per day + super

The Senior Product Designer is responsible for delivering experience design expertise and solutions which contribute to and deliver the experience design of our Federal Government client's products, services, supporting wider programs delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the delivery and advocacy of best-practice design methods, ensuring a customer-centered approach to complex design challenges.
Provide expert product design advice, anticipate potential problems, and contribute to effective issue management.
Develop and maintain design frameworks, interface pattern libraries, and guidelines to ensure consistency and efficiency in design delivery.
Conduct user research, usability testing, and create wireframes, screen flows, prototypes, and high-fidelity screen designs.
Manage stakeholder relationships by anticipating and responding to needs, while ensuring alignment with agency objectives.
Implement and oversee design phases, setting priorities, managing workflow, and ensuring quality outputs.
Key Knowledge and Experience:
Tertiary qualifications in Human-Centred Design, Service Design, or a related discipline (highly regarded).
Proven experience designing within Government environments.
Strong background in user experience design for the health sector, with an understanding of regulatory and operational considerations.
Proficiency in Figma for designing, prototyping, and collaborating on user interface projects.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in User Experience (UX) Design, applying Human-Centred Design methodologies.
Ability to make informed decisions under limited direction, leveraging design expertise, research, and strategic frameworks.
Essential criteria
Tertiary qualifications in Human-Centred Design, Service Design or related disciplines.
Proven experience designing for Government and Health organisations.
Proficiency in the use of Figma.
3 + years’ experience in User Experience Design.
Australian Citizenship / Ability to Obtain Baseline security clearance.
