Recruitment needs/briefThis was an important leadership position with specific requirements. Our client had already attempted to fill this senior role through their own efforts and by engaging another recruitment agency. They reached out to Pinpoint to explore how our approach could deliver a successful outcome where previous methods had fallen short. |
Approach/processWe analysed previous recruitment methods, which involved advertising, searching LinkedIn, and using an agency recruiter who followed a similar approach. At Pinpoint, we leverage an extensive yet targeted network, focusing on strategies that avoid duplicating prior methods. We outlined to the client the strengths of our specific network, detailing how and with whom we could connect regarding this role. From there, we conducted a thorough recruitment process, including interviews, to deliver a refined shortlist of candidates. |
ChallengesRecruiting for this role presented unique challenges, as our approach focused on headhunting candidates who were not actively seeking new opportunities. To attract candidates, it was essential to thoroughly understand and communicate the full range of benefits the position offered. Additionally, educating the client on how to present their role and work environment effectively was crucial to ensuring candidates would be genuinely interested and aligned with the opportunity. |
Result/outcomeOur success stemmed from effective networking, securing genuine referrals, and engaging with executives who had previously hired similar talent. This led us to identify two candidates with the right skill set and motivations for the role. These candidates did not have updated CVs or detailed LinkedIn profiles, meaning they would not have been discovered through the client's initial conventional recruitment methods. |
Conclusion/lesson learnedA key takeaway for the client was the importance of thoroughly understanding their recruitment partners—their strengths, processes, specialisations, and networks—and collaborating closely with them to save time and achieve the best possible outcome. |
